Rendezvous Quartet at the Balmoral Kirk

This Saturday night the 21st of July at 7pm, The Kirk will host the Rendezvous Quartet. This is band is sponsored by the Los Primos Project. A project started over 20 years ago by Jeff Goodspeed and his wife Amara, it has raised over $600,000 for music education in NS as well as sending 700 musical instruments to Cuba and 400 cultural exchanges between Cuba and NS. The quartet features Jeff on sax along with Augusto Enriquez and his son and daughter. Augusto is one of the most popular musicians in Cuba, he has played with Pavaroti among many others. His son Augusto Pedro has a masters in Music from the Royal Conservatory of Madrid and his daughter Allison plays violin in the NS Youth Symphony and the Dalhousie Symphony. They will be playing the classics, Latin Jazz and traditional Cuban music. This band plays violin, electric 5 string violin, classical guitar, electric guitar, Cuban guitar, sax, flute, percussion and they have beautiful voices. This concert will be such a great opportunity to listen to world class musicians in an incredible old building with perfect acoustics. Please come support this cultural exchange!!
