The Los Primos Project was invited to present a show at the Jazz Festival on July 16. The show featured a new band called “Eclecticus” made up of students who have learned to play Cuban music through their years playing with Los Primos bands and receiving instruction from Cuban professionals who have traveled to Halifax in support of the Project.

The cultural exchange on this trip was with 6 students from the Holguin School of music who joined the NSCC band for rehearsals and performance. A few instruments were presented as gifts and made some young musicians very happy.
Twenty-two musicians from Halifax joined Augusto Enriquez to present a show for the members of the House of Commons and the Senate on October 3'rd, 2016. The event was sponsored by the Cuban Embassy in Ottawa and featured the show, 'Sinatra meets Moré' which the band presented in Havana at the Karl Marx Theatre in October 2015.
Augusto Enriquez & The Back Alley Big Band
In October 2015 world famous classical guitarist and composer Leo Brouwer invited the Back Alley Big Band to perform in his Festival de Voix Humanes with Augusto Enriquez. Their performance was recorded for TV in Cuba and shown on National television 3 times. As a result they have been invited to play in Ottawa for the members of the House of Commons and the Senate on October 3, 2016.
Augusto Enriquez was invited to perform a show in the prestigious Revello Festival in Itally. Alison Enriquez, Alejandro Enriquez and Yamile Casanueva were joined by Jeff Goodspeed, Frank Rubio and Alfred Thompson to present the excerpts from Augusto's CD Te Doy Una Canción. This 3 CD set features the music of Silvio Rodriguez and ranges in style from traditional Cuban Bolero to Big Band Jazz.
Los Primos Project and the Nova Scotia Community College partnered to take 70 people to Cuba and take part in the Romerías de Mayo International Youth Arts Festival. 27 students from the NSCC Music Arts program made the trip.
In May of 2015 3 bands from the NSCC, plus 2 bands from the Los Primos Satellite Program met up in Holguin for the Romerías de Mayo International Youth Arts Festival. The NSCC group arrived first and had a cultural exchange with the Holguin School of Music.
After the debut perfromance at the DFAA 2014, The Back Alley Big Band with Augusto Enriquez up front, and under the direction of Paul Barrett was invited to perform at the Halifax Jazz Festival 2014.
Added for this show were the vocals of Yamile Casanueva and Alison Enríquez.
Augusto Enríquez' 3-CD tribute to the great Cuban singer songwriter Silvio Rodríguez, provided the music for this concert at the music room in Halifax.
