Nova Scotia Youth Jazz Orchestra
In 2019 Los Primos Project formed this big band with strings featuring vocals from Alison Enriquez and Josh Robinson. Some of the finest young musicians in Nova Scotia come together to play all styles of music from classic big band swing to contemporary jazz and latin dance music. Under the direction of Paul Barrett, Augusto Enriquez and Jeff Goodspeed NSyJo is creating opportunities for our youth to take part in a band that also includes young professionals as mentors and clinics with seasoned jazz artist from eastern Canada.
The Los Primos Society would like to announce our Annual General Meeting to be held on Nov 10th from 7:00pm to 8:00pm at
the Cottage Café - 300 Prince Albert Road in Dartmouth
All interested persons are welcome.
This month our raffle partner is the Truro District Schools Band Program. 50% of our proceeds from the Rafflebox online draw will go to the Truro Band Program. Tickets are on sale until March 31st.
This month Los Primos has partnered with Honour Jazz for our Rafflebox recipient. The Nova Scotia Honour Jazz program was started in the fall of 1995 by Dave Staples, Jeff Goodspeed, and Paul Barrett.
This month for our March 3rd 50/50 draw our raffle partner will be the Nova Scotia Honour Jazz “Funk Unit”
50% or our 50/50 proceeds will go the helping this great music program run by Ken MacKay and David Burton. Join Augusto Enriquez and Danny Martin at the Cottage Cafe for the draw on March 3rd. You will be able to see it on the Los Primos facebook and instagram pages shortly after the draw and a complete video of the event and profile of the Funk Unit will be posted here.
