This Saturday night the 21st of July at 7pm, The Kirk will host the Rendezvous Quartet. This is band is sponsored by the Los Primos Project. A project started over 20 years ago by Jeff Goodspeed and his wife Amara, it has raised over $600,000 for music education in NS as well as sending 700 musical instruments to Cuba and 400 cultural exchanges between Cuba and NS. The quartet features Jeff on sax along with Augusto Enriquez and his son and daughter. Augusto is one of the most popular musicians in Cuba, he has played with Pavaroti among many others.
In July 2018 there will be a very special Musical Rendezvous! Augusto Pedro is the 25 year old son of Augusto Enriquez and he has been studying classical guitar in Spain for the past 6 years. He has been a featured soloist with the Madrid Symphony Orchestra.
Alison Enriquez is Augusto's 17 year old daughter and she has been studying high school in Halifax for the past 2 years. She is currently the principal 2nd violin with both the Nova Scotia Youth Orchestra and the Dalhousie Symphony Orchestra.

Los Primos Annual Fundraising Raffle
Music students all over the province are selling tickets on a chance to win "A Trip for 4 to Cuba".
The winning ticket was drawn at the Annual Dance for All Ages at the Olympic Hall Commuity Centre on Mar 3, 2018.
Alison Enriquez from Havana Cuba is now in Grade 11 at Armbrae Academy. She is the principal second violin in the Nova Scotia Youth Orchestra and she is the the only high school student in the Dalhousie University Orchestra.

Salsa, Marengue, Cha Cha Cha... Los Primos 2017 will get feet moving. Dance lessons on site with Chitzsando Mkandawire (Concept Creative Dance Company). 5 of Havana's best musicians will be performing as a follow up to the dance clinics offered in the afternoon at New Dawn Centre.
