Nova Scotia Youth Jazz Orchestra

In 2019 Los Primos Project formed this big band with strings featuring vocals from Alison Enriquez and Josh Robinson. Some of the finest young musicians in Nova Scotia come together to play all styles of music from classic big band swing to contemporary jazz and latin dance music. Under the direction of Paul Barrett, Augusto Enriquez and Jeff Goodspeed NSyJo is creating opportunities for our youth to take part in a band that also includes young professionals as mentors and clinics with seasoned jazz artist from eastern Canada.

Back by popular demand. The Rendezvous Quartet will play at the Lunenburg Seaport. Jeff Goodspeed and the Enriquez Family will again enjoy presenting a wide range of music that brings Cuban culture to this most interesting venue on the south shore. Enjoy the unique nautical surroundings of the Seaport museum while being transported around the world by music from one of Cuba's most loved singers... Augusto Enriquez!

Rendezvous Quartet in July

In July 2018 there will be a very special Musical Rendezvous! Augusto Pedro is the 25 year old son of Augusto Enriquez and he has been studying classical guitar in Spain for the past 6 years. He has been a featured soloist with the Madrid Symphony Orchestra. 

Alison Enriquez is Augusto's 17 year old daughter and she has been studying high school in Halifax for the past 2 years. She is currently the principal 2nd violin with both the Nova Scotia Youth Orchestra and the Dalhousie Symphony Orchestra.
